ER...VOTING

so being the dedicated and socially aware (lol) person/sister that I am, my brother and I went to early voting together this morning. I decided it was nice and cheesy that we were voting together and that it needed to be commemorated with take it yourself pictures- melba style :) although- obviously not as successful as melba herself.

Busy Weekend

dessert before....

and after.......

so friday night my family worked frantically to get the house ready for my first over night visitors in my house. I think things went okay, minus a couple little set backs

- then saturday was a gold rush marathon- lots of fun, but i was exhausted after that and a midnight dash through walmart (dash lasting like an hour and a half). It was a sad excuse to stock the pantry to make my house looked lived in...then I had to go and put everything up until 11:30pm ...lol...ocd is a great motivator!

then sunday I woke up around 745 to leave to meet zelda and erik...so after I got ready and weny by my house then hit the road. I got to perimeter around 10- which i thought was late but i love z so much- she wasnt ready either, so around 12 we went searching for breakfast and ended up at the cafe intermezzo. We had a nice breakfast and dessert of course since we were at cafe intermezzo. then we got dessert at alon bakery for later (pictured above), got eyebrows done, and went to the dekalb market!!! and got take out from top spice (the best fried rice in the world) so much fun!

sorry the pics are out of order...but im still leaning how to blog...eek

Butch Walker

I figured it would be easier to read if I published each idea under different topics since there's been a lot going on- so Brad and I went to see our favorite Butch Walker right after I got back from the beach. It was at Center Stage so that was a new venue and not too bad except the bad bouncers who closed the restrooms after the show and wouldnt let us hang around to take pics with butch after the concert as usual. He did the first hour acoustic with new stuff and lots of sappy piano songs and then the last hour and a half the lets go out tonights, and the marvelous 3 guys came out to end the show with a bang !! definaly cool!! My photography isnt great but this will give you an idea what we saw- but the show definately looses something in pictures only

I should have named it favorite song of the month...

As usual im a little less than prompt with my postings but the next favorite song is
You look good in my shirt by Keith Urban

finally getting a minute to post

As usual the couple of weeks at the end of summer vacation get crazy busy (even if im not directly involved with the school stuff). Recently got back from a conference in sandestin. Once we got settled and checked in and unpacked and changed rooms b/c ours hadnt been cleaned, it ended up being nice. The weather was great. We had one day of rain which mom and I managed to shop away! Conference was kinda boring but I did get to meet up with some of my old emory buddies and teachers. But really who goes to the beach for the conference??? So i did manage to get 2 and a half books read while chiling in the sun. Didnt play in the ocean much due to the jellyfish epidemic...eek. All the kids on the beach had been stung and the lifeguards were out of sting spray. Didnt take many pics but this is from the first night there.

and yes this was taken from inside a moving car.....

what 2 posts in one day???

yeah two posts in one day- that's what happens when you mean to attach a picture and end up clicking on the publish button instead- whoops!

so to follow in the style of Karen- here is a picture of Zelda's baby quilt
Now that I'm trying to do better on this blogging thing- I'm going to try a weekly edition of Julie's favorite song of the week: THIS WEEK'S song is : Weezer's Pork and Beans
yes its a little sassy and its great to confuse the coworkers when you tell them that pork and beans is in your head today. Here is where you can get your own pork and beans!!

it's mine, all mine!!

So today was the closing...I was so worried that it wouldnt be to my dad's expectations and we wouldnt get to, but aparently they worked until 11 last night when they ran out of paint. the night before they were up to 2:30 am working on stuff. It is incredible how much a good coat of paint can make a difference. I was up at normal work time today and went by the insurance place to get our copy of the proof of insurance and to pay them of course. Everyone wants money out of me- lol. Then on the way to the final walk through- we get a call that oh the closing that was planned for 2 is really at 12- by now its like 10:30 and we had to get to sugarloaf...so we did a quick walk though and headed on to sign the papers. That part was not nearly as stressful as the confrontation wtih the superintendant was on tuesday. Anyway needless to say, new sod is laid, new paint is drying and the keys are mine :) There will definately be a party planned soon!!
Other news, I got word yesterday that zelda had her baby on tuesday. Got the blanket done on wednesday so all in all that's not too bad!! I got it in the mail today also. Sounds like they are loving having the little guy around. so welcome joaquin!

nightmare on elm street

they got my columns done today for the second time- much better than the first- and if you look past the dead and dying sod there are a few small flowers on a couple of the shrubs so that's exciting :)

nightmare on elm street- that's what my dad is calling my house project. We had a nice discussion with the superintendent and he hopefully is fixing things to our standards and closing is still tentatively scheduled for Friday. Needless to say things have been a little stressful around here. I was getting harassed for not blogging more than twice so i figured this was more fun than doing the check book game :) so here I am blogging instead of sleeping.

Other than house stuff which is taking up a huge amount of time and stress things have been busy the past couple of weeks between funerals and weddings (hmm do I hear another British film i need to watch?) I'm definitely looking forward to a little quiet time to relax and unwind once this busy month is over with!

Heather's wedding was a blast...here's a pic of me getting some action....jk melba :)
